Conspiracy Theories?
In the Middle Ages and beyond, the Roman Catholic Church was aggressive in protecting “the faithful” from dangerous ideas. It called those ideas “heresy” and those who espoused them “heretics.”
The fate of a convicted heretic could be quite grim. The Church practiced a severe form of retribution for error…partially, I’m sure, to send a message to the fence-sitters.
These days, the Church has been replaced by another sort of religion: amorphous and multi-headed in nature…but just as determined to root out what it perceives as heresy.
One of the notable tools used in the effort is to label unacceptable points of view as “conspiracy theories.” Once charged with this thought crime, the espouser is expected to stand down.
It's become quite a useful tool – particularly for our faltering mainstream media outlets. (It’s a good substitute for expensive fact-finding…and for critical thinking)
But let’s step back and examine some recent examples of these “dangerous conspiracy theories” and see what new things we may have learned about them.
Here we go:
1. Original Conspiracy Theory: RussiaGate is a hoax
Trump said this all along. It turns out he was right. It WAS a hoax. And the FBI knew it from the get-go. Nice. Apparently, some public figures are so unpalatable that the rule of law may in their case be suspended.
Interesting principle.
2. Original Conspiracy Theory: Hunter Biden’s laptop is real
The jury is IN on this one too. Again, the FBI and the Intelligence community actively worked to suppress news about the contents of the laptop before the 2020 election.
The evidence is mounting that the Biden family has been running a very profitable bribery operation for decades.
Bet: we will find that the Bidens have been sucking cash out of Ukraine for over a decade. The degree to which “the Big Guy” is therein compromised may have something to do with our disastrous foreign policy under his administration. ?
3. Original Conspiracy Theory: There IS such a thing as the “Deep State”
If you had your doubts about the existence of a “deep state” that operated independently of Congress and the Executive, the whole RussiaGate affair should have disabused you.
If it did not, perhaps the evidence of FBI and CIA meddling with social media content may have convinced you.
Don’t you also find it interesting that successive Presidents have pledged to release all the JFK files only to have the CIA override them again and again?
The FBI and CIA seem to think of themselves as our fourth branch of government with powers that exceed those of the other three – including the sitting President.
Smells like a “deep state” to me.
4. Original Conspiracy Theory: Covid-19 emerged from a Chinese lab and may have been funded by US institutions
I’d say the evidence on this one continues – as it progressively emerges – to suggest that an accidental – or purposeful - release from the Wuhan lab is exactly what happened. And we (U.S. governmental entities) WERE funding gain-of-function research despite an ostensible Presidential ban and Fauci’s probable lies under oath.
It is not impossible to guess the motivation behind keeping this likely fact from the American people.
5. Original Conspiracy Theory: Vaccines may be dangerous
Lots of correlation...but causation?. Sometimes smoke means fire. I’d like to know more. You?
The obsession with shutting down RFK Jr. is an indicator of how much he is feared…particularly on this subject.
6. Original Conspiracy Theory: Jeffrey Epstein did NOT commit suicide
Not sure anyone really believes he did…except maybe Bill Barr.
Here’s a bet I’m willing to make: we will NEVER witness the release of Epstein’s client list.
While we’re on the subject, how about a couple of “golden oldies?”
7. Original Conspiracy Theory: JFK Assassination Was a Conspiracy
In 1966, Mark Lane published Rush to Judgment, the first book to attack the Warren Commission’s report on the assassination of JFK. In the book, Lane highlighted the famous Single Bullet Theory concocted by Commission Counsel, Arlen Spector. A classic piece of force-fitting the evidence.
In the years since scores of books debunking the Commission’s theory of the case have come out and – in 1978 – a Congressional Assassination Committee concluded that the assassination had been the result of a conspiracy.
Still buying the lone gunman theory?
Read JFK and the Unspeakable by James Douglass. Then, let’s talk.
8. Original Conspiracy Theory: RFK Assassination Was a Conspiracy
RFK died from a point-blank gunshot wound behind his right ear. Powder burns. Sirhan was in front of him and at least a few feet away. Read the Noguchi Autopsy Report - even the summary of it, which is available online.
Seems enough to raise doubts to me.
And this is a two-fer.
If you doubt the accepted story of JFK’s assassination, you’re halfway there on this one.
The term “Conspiracy Theory” is a meme designed to stifle discussion. Free countries are composed of independent citizens who think for themselves.

1 年These are dangerous times for our freedom and our constitution. Florida now must teach Civics, the constitution, and bill of rights in every public school. Mandated and absolutely necessary for young people to know their rights and the reason we have a constitution put together by men who experienced tyranny in Europe and risked everything to escape and build a country the principle of: By and For the People. Sadly the 'swamp' is run by corruption, greed, control fanatics who exist regardless of who is in power. They tolerate Congress and top officials.....because they know they'll soon be replaced. It's the same at the State, County, City, Town and School Board levels......inmates running the institutions.
