Consortium's Community #1!

Welcome to our new and improved, community-focused newsletter. Over the years, Consortium have built a fantastic community and we want to put the spotlight on YOU.

We'll be showcasing the best of your LinkedIn posts, sharing community insights from our exclusive Q&As, celebrating individual achievement and much more!

We are so grateful for the amazing network that we have, and wanted to share its knowledge with you.

Sharing the love on Valentine's Day

In the build-up to Valentine's Day, we wanted you to share the love.

We know from experience that positive working relationships make a cohesive, communicative team that delivers excellent service to clients. So, what better time than Valentine’s to celebrate those people that you LOVE working with?

We strongly believe that the best firms are made up of cohesive teams with great collaboration. Here at Consortium, the relationship that our staff have with each other is fantastic and it allows seamless communication throughout the business. They all LOVE to work with each other!

We asked you to share who you loved working with, and tell us why. We got some great replies. Here are our favourites:

"Valentine's Challenge Complete….

‘Share a photo of the people you love ?? working with’ thank you #ConsortiumCommunity

"I have to say, as a remote worker most of the time, my constant companion is this gorgeous chappie, Bruce.

He's always happy to see me, he always cheers me up, we have great conversations & brainstorming sessions, he is always positive and I love spending time with him ??

So, here's to Bruce ??"

2024 industry events

There are so many industry events which you could be attending, and often the choice is so broad it gets difficult to make a decision - especially when you want to make the most of your time.

So, here are two, recommended to us by you:

First off, we have the Festival of Accounting and Bookkeeping, taking place on March 13th-14th at the NEC Birmingham.

This is THE event to attend if you are in the accounting space. You'll meet the vendors, talk face-to-face with experts, get together with like-minded friends, attend workshops and finally get the answers to your burning questions.

Our very own Lara Squires FCIM and Hannah Perryman may even be attending this one, so be sure to book your ticket today!

Next up, we have the Resolution Conference 2024, recommended by Emily Borghese of Lux Family Law .

Resolution’s National Conference, the biggest annual gathering of family justice professionals, will be on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th of May 2024 at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.

The conference will feature key updates, plenaries and workshops from leading speakers in the field of family law. The programme allows for plenty of networking, with a drinks reception and a gala dinner on Friday evening.

If you or your firm practices Family Law, this event is a must!

Member Spotlight

Each month, we will be shining the spotlight on one of our amazing community members.

This month, we'd like to showcase Peter Haney , Senior Caseworker & Police Station Representative at Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors .

Peter has been an accredited Police Station Representative for several firms across the northwest, Cheshire, and North Wales and has also operated as a freelance consultant for 2 years.

Peter encourages people to take up free representation during Police interviews and as an accredited representative, spends day and night at the police station assisting some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Peter has also been shortlisted for the Paralegal of the Year Award at the upcoming Modern Law Awards. He is a fantastic professional and we wish him the best of luck!

Podcast of the month!

Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular nowadays, with 32% of UK adults regularly listening to podcasts. Did you know that there are over 4.25 million podcasts worldwide?

Next month we’ll be asking you for your recommendations for shows or episodes that you’ve thought were particularly good, but for now we’re going to be a bit cheeky and recommend our own show: 'more than marketing'!

Our very own podcast is dedicated to providing you with our top marketing tips, and we have even welcomed a few special guests on the show.

Our latest episode features Alex Barr , Managing Director of Third Bounce . Host Jennifer Budd talks to Alex about sales, which has long been a taboo in the professional services sector. There is a well-established notion that sales is the opposite of good, ethical service - but in this episode, we're here to show you why that's not the case.

Check it out here . Next month, we'll be asking you for your recommendations, so stay tuned.

Well, there you have it, the very first edition of the 'Consortium Community Newsletter'!

We really hope you have enjoyed it and if you would like to feature next month, be sure to keep an eye on our LinkedIn page, where we’ll be posting prompts and questions throughout March.

Loved reading through it; thank you for knitting the month together so wonderfully!

The conversation I had with Alex has really altered my perspective on Sales. The things we talked about come up almost everyday! I hope everyone else finds it as useful as I did.
