Be Consistent
Hi Friend!
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to check out my article to you. I have a confession to make and as we all know confessions are never easy.
Here we go. Wheww!...I've struggled with being consistent with my dreams and purpose these past months and if you're like me I've said to myself "enough is enough". I had to just put my foot down and no longer let procrastination get in the way of my life and the things that matter to me the most. Time is not on my side so it is important to know where I consistently spend I time and resources.
The New Year is just around the corner and we are going to make promises to our selves that we simply can not keep. These false promises and commitments to ourselves hurts us more than we know it. Think about it! When someone makes a promise to us we expect them to keep it and we hold them accountable to it. If they break their promises we are quick to cut that person out of our life picture. Why do we not hold ourselves more accountable than other people. We have more at stake than anyone else in our life.
We break promises because we are not consistent. We become lazy with the promises we make to ourselves. Of course, we may fulfill a promise for three consecutive days but after that we are okay with every other day...and then...there we have it... we are committed zero after less than a month of false consistency.
Consistency simply means you are going to be just as excited about the day you started as the days moving forward.
When we attempt to do something day in and day out we find that time becomes more of an enemy than a friend. We find find ourselves saying things like "I'll get to it tomorrow", or "I'll do twice the work next week to make up for last week"... what is your excuse for not being consistent? Tell me. Oh okay you have none.
Trust me when I tell that consistency is vital to us all. If you think about how our organs work. Listen to how hearts beats, how our lungs breath, and how our blood flows. They all tell us how consistency is the secret of life to thrive. I am thankful how consistent my heart is. Have heart and be consistent.
I leave you with this. Think about the things you do everyday like how you brush your teeth, sleep, and eat everyday! Add just one more small thing to that list of "Everydays" and make that thing as important as brushing your teeth because if you don't do it...your breath and your life is going to stink.
