Consistency on your website goes beyond 'words'

When it comes to maintaining consistency on a website, our mind jumps straight to words – e.g. vs eg., analyse vs analyze, a period at the end of the last item in a bullet list vs a period at the end of every item, etc.
Today, consistency goes beyond just words. Consistency in both design and content on your website is what separates a refined user experience from a chaotic one. For an end user, consistency on the website means uniformity among different elements on the website and a logical flow. This helps them predict the structure of the website, find information quickly and self learn along the journey.
A user-centric website should provide a consistent experience for its design, content, functionality and other elements (like search, navigation, footer, etc.). Every aspect of your website should complement each other and give the end user the impression of a uniform, well-thought and logical experience.
Remember, consistency on your website is directly proportional to the comfort level of the customers on the website. The more consistent and logically integrated different elements on your website are, the more comfortable the customer feels while visiting your website.
