Consistency Builds Your Brand

A few days ago, I was watching a webinar on email marketing, the information was really good and he gave a lot of information on how to set up a good email that includes a call to action.

At the end, during the question and answer time, someone asked if their email newsletter should match their website colors.

In my mind, I thought “Yes!! Everything related to your business should match!”

Keeping your marketing materials consistent is very important to help build your brand. Your audience will recognize your post on social media and your fans will stop to read.

I understand it may seem boring to always use the same colors and fonts in your post but in the long run it actually saves you time. You don’t have to come up with new designs or find color combinations every time you post or email.

This is a ficticious business I created to show an example of a brand. This shows the color palette and imagery.

If you’re working with a graphic designer or marketing agency, they can create a style guide for your business. It can be as simple as one page or up to multiple?pages.

This logo design is for a client in San Antonio, TX. It is a 3-color pallete. Clean and simple.

For example, I?like to post?motivational quotes, I just drop in the new text in the graphic. I don’t have to come up with other color combinations or a new design.

Of course, there will be times that you want to add a little extra to your newsletter or social media post. For example, in February we have Valentine’s Day. You can always add some red or some hearts to your newsletter or social media post. Your branch should be flexible, but for the most part, keep it consistent.
