The EU is building technological capacity in preventive conservation through public investment in academia and technology transfer. Here are three EU-funded conservation technology startups that have caught our attention (and they’ve received nearly $20M in grants from the EU). It’s certainly a very different funding model than NEH/IMLS, and it will be interesting to see if these projects achieve commercial sustainability.
