‘The Preamble to the Declaration of Independence reads: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Consent of the Governed

Tranquility of dawn,

Feet in the grass,

Beautiful roses, amongst towering palms,

Waters gentle stillness shines reflections as glass.

A world away,

Shocking events of the day,

Emotions running high,

Cascading reactions hold sway.

-

Justifiable anger,

Sorrow and pain,

Accusations and malice,

violence and shame.

-

Brave and stoic actions,

Great valor remains,

Coming together,

One people and sane.

-

Light of awareness,

Co-interdependence of causes,

The name-calling and rhetoric,

Bombastically divisive and Maya.

-

The programming laid bare,

The lies and desperation we see,

Selfish, clinging and attacking,

Societies ego power structure exposed.

-

Subversive and dark foundations,

Built on clouds of ignorance,

Flailing and falling away,

Last gasp of a dying disease.

-

Deep state, hiding in plain sight,

Do gooders blinded by their own plight,

False narrative, like shifting sands,

No longer a blight on our land.

-

But for an archangel or God’s intervention,

Evil intent thwarted,

Grazed yet unfazed,

A nation galvanized.

-

Divine graces’s understanding,

Higher power than you or me.

Certainly no other man or woman,

Better than thee.

-

People waking up,

Taking back agency of self,

Rejecting the control,

Questioning faulty paradigms and goals.

-

Power lies within,

Transcending the moment,

Shining brightly for all to be,

Freedom for you and me.

-

I no longer abide,

Disrobing the wolves in sheep’s clothing,

Love manifests truth,

The only consent of the governed.
