Your words speaks life and there is power in it! I have experimented this before and it is true. This is why affirmations work and how the law of attraction operates.

Children who are loved and spoken well to, grow up to be confident people. They have likable demeanor and are generally happier.

With great potential, you still need to have the right environment, habits and people supporting you to evolve and grow into success.

What is success?

Your environment shapes your success in life.

Defined differently, widely understood as material affordability. Some think having a business? or winning a championship, the list is endless on how people define success.

In an environment that is lacking basic necessities, getting a meal makes you a successful man. (think war torn countries or slums)

In a wealthy nation like Singapore, owning a car doesn't mean you are successful.

With SGD 1.2m, you can buy a 1 bedroom condominium in Singapore but you can buy 4 units in Thailand. Would that make you even more successful in Thailand?

So Success is a relative term and cannot be generalized. It is personal because you can ask a class of 10 students and they will explain it differently.

What really matters then?

Dr. Masaru Emoto's famous water experiment shows that words can change the way water behaves and because our bodies contain up to 70% water, we can also change people by words. Critics argued that his experiment was flawed and wasn't done in a proper manner. You may read about his interesting work separately.

The Bible also says that

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. - Proverbs 18:21

Did you know that you could also talk a plant to life or death? Through various experiments, I have come to the conclusion that our words carry immense power.

You could use words to build people up. (think prayers, proclamations and blessings)

At the other extreme, it could also be used to hurt others. (think curses and sorcery)

How do we actually get hurt?

Ever heard of the phrase : It hurts more when he says .F%$^^**($%#

Understand what is verbal abuse?

Witnessed how road rage start?

Seen how drivers challenge each other to a race and end up in an accident?

That is exactly what happens when people argue and fight. The moments where anger filled words are released, it antagonizes the other person and challenges them. In retaliation, that person throws back and soon they start pushing each other and exchanging blows.

Words can pierce someone hard and that pain is remembered. It outweighs physical pain because wounds will heal over time, but emotional wounds heal slower and it can be detrimental to mental health.

Do we really forgive and forget? To be truthful, you can forgive but you can't forget. Because your instinctive mind will send you warnings and put up a defensive barricade so you will not get hurt again.

No one is interested, actually

Social media is filled with tons of niceties, sports cars, expensive wear, exquisite dining experiences, collector's watches, showcases etc. Almost everyone has to flaunt something to prove themselves.

It is sad that the vast majority aren't interested in people who don't flaunt their material possessions. We are naturally attracted to the who's who, the rich kid of the block, the coolest tech gadget or Ai of the year, the accolades, the fame, the celebs, the socialites etc. and want to associate with them.

We think : If you aren't rich, then you aren't worthy to give advice about life as you haven't decoded the way yet. Is that true? Does it mean that everyone has to go through life pursing riches in order to find themselves?

Do you know that rich people also feel empty in their hearts? Have you read about family inheritance feuds and power struggles of the rich and powerful? Or the legal battles between a father and son?

The abundant life

You are not afraid to give because there is supply. You are always grateful because life is kind to you. You enjoy peace amongst the chaos.

Even in a tough economy, you get a job while others struggle to get an interview.

In face of stiff competition, you still get business when others barely survive.

There is no lack. You have what you need.

There is no need for comparison, accolades or recognition. People know who you are.

As for those who don't know you, it means they are not important to you.

There are no more struggles because there is no need to worry about money or income.

There is no need to seek validation and approval from people as you are the boss of your own life. You make your choices.

There is no need to compete with your peers because they will be wowed by your amazing works, and they wonder why you are always at peace.

You are contented, immensely grateful for what you have and willingly share it with others who are less fortunate.

From now onwards:

Learn words and use it carefully. Build people and you will be likeable.

You will attract good people who wants to support and give you business.

You will associate with good people who are genuinely interested in your well being.

You will grow rich, as you learn how to emulate success.

You will grow healthy, as you learn self care, eating the useful stuff and using the gym.

You will grow wise and be in a position to share your goodness to people who look up to you.

That will be the epitome of real success. You become a well rounded person who is greatly blessed and ready to bless others.
