Conquering the New

Conquering the New

Doing something new is hard because you don't know how to do it. Hard to start, hard to give it priority, and hard to see it through. It creates resistance. It creates uncertainty. And it can be down right scary. All of which make it hard.

When I'm invited into a company my recommendations often get knowing nods, as in yeah, we've thought about that. But they never tried it because it's new, not to mention what they're currently doing takes 125% of their time and energy.

Don't be upset when doing that new thing feels the way it does. That's just the way new things feel. And know you can always ask for help.
