In the software development world, great engineers are often promoted to management positions with little or no training. This lack of preparation can result in talented individuals becoming poor managers, not knowing what to expect from their team members or how to measure performance. This can create anxiety and negatively impact overall team performance.
One solution to this issue is to provide comprehensive management training programs for new managers, focusing on essential skills such as communication, delegation, and performance evaluation. By equipping managers with the tools they need to succeed, they can better support their teams and foster a positive work environment.

I recall a manager who was concerned about an engineer's performance based solely on "perceived" performance. This engineer was shy and quiet but highly skilled and efficient. 1 年ML is crazy popular, stupidly useful, and potentially terrifying. I dedicated some time recently to learning how it all works (thanks to GPT for promoting the technology, lol). And I discovered that although ML is indeed powerful, at the same time it's pretty limited and demanding. You not only have to have quite a lot of data, but your data also should be of high quality. Otherwise, you will not be able to train the algorithm well enough to use it in production. And also, I was shocked by how many arbitrary decisions engineers have to make while building a model. For example, hyperparameter tuning or algorithm selection. "Try 'em all" is not a joke, but real advice I've read from the book, lol. Btw, I'm happy to hear that you are working on something cool!
