My high school wrestling days were a time of contrasts, marked by expectations of being the projected state champion during my junior and senior years. A younger me once said in the news, "I have been eating, sleeping, and breathing state title since I was seven years old; it's my turn to win it."

This sentiment, a testament to my determination, stood firm until a moment of doubt unexpectedly crept in during the warm-up of a crucial state quarterfinal match. Despite being the top wrestler in Ohio and nationally ranked, this sudden uncertainty, amidst the high stakes and intense competition, led to a turning point – not securing the state title.

Looking back, I see this as part of God’s plan, a lesson in humility and trust. This experience, though initially perceived as the most significant setback in my life, was, in fact, a divine redirection.

It taught me to place my trust not in titles or accolades but in the greater journey that God had laid out for me. However, this realization took time to come.
