Conquering Depression: Maxi Fetsch's Journey to Inner Peace

Have you ever wondered what's behind a smile?

Let me share something personal with you. Even though I'm often seen as the upbeat, always-smiling person, I've had my own encounters with depression. It's not something I would have thought possible, but it happened. And I believe talking about it can make a difference.

Recently, I had an eye-opening conversation with a remarkable woman named Maxi Fetsch on my podcast, "Lead Well!". Maxi caught my attention with a LinkedIn post that began with, "Psychiatry – And then what?...". Her candidness and the joy radiating from her photo intrigued me, and I felt compelled to reach out to her.

During our chat, Maxi shared her journey through some of the darkest moments of her life. She spoke about the overwhelming feelings she faced, the challenges of motherhood while battling depression, and the struggle to find a reason to keep going. But amidst all that, something shifted for her. She found hope in acceptance and began to embrace her emotions rather than pushing them away.

Maxi talked about how engaging her senses—smelling, tasting, touching, listening to music—helps her stay present and connected. Her story is one of resilience and finding peace within oneself.

I was deeply moved by our conversation, and I think you might find it touching too. If you've ever faced similar feelings or know someone who has, listening to Maxi's story might offer comfort and insight.

You can listen to our full conversation?here.

Remember, it's okay to have tough days, and it's important to be gentle with ourselves. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here.

Take care,

Christine
