Conn's Women Leaders: Meet Yesenia Maldonado
Yesenia Maldonado, Warehouse Operations Manager, is our final feature for Women’s History Month. She’s also a career mom and student. In this feature, Yesenia discusses the challenges she’s faced regarding potential. She also gives motivational advice on goal setting.
What’s your job title and how long have you been with Conn’s??I am a?Warehouse Operations Manager, and my original hire date was back in 2012. I took a year off to go to school and was rehired in 2018.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work??I enjoy reading, bowling, and spending quality time with my family.
What struggles have you faced as a woman and how did you overcome them??As a woman, it has been difficult to have people see my potential. To see that I can do more than just be a housewife, a mother, a cook, and a student. I can do all those things at home and have a career in which I excel. It took years of continuous hard work, and dedication to my job to prove I was more than just a mom. I was a woman who was capable of so much more.
?What woman has influenced you the most, either personally or professionally??My mother has been and always will be my greatest influencer. She motivates me to be a better woman and told me that hard work always pays off.?
Advice to other women and the next generation of women??My advice to all women is to set a goal, work hard every day, and never give up. Because SOME progress will ALWAYS be progress.
