Choice is essential to life, significantly impacting our well-being and creativity. The average person makes upward of 35000 choices per day. Our brain decision-making comes from chemicals released or various neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, adrenaline, and endorphins.?
Our brain is a complex organ that controls our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is responsible for all our choices and decisions, including the emotions we experience. Emotions (chemicals) are significant in our lives and are closely linked to our choices/decisions. The human brain has evolved over millions of years to help us make the right choices that lead to happiness, sadness, euphoria, and all the other emotions we experience. The brain has several different regions that are responsible for processing emotions. The amygdala, for example, is part of the brain responsible for processing fear and anxiety. The hippocampus is responsible for processing memories, and the prefrontal cortex is responsible for decision-making and emotional regulation.
When we experience different emotions, the brain releases chemicals that influence our mood and behavior. For example, when we are happy, the brain releases dopamine, a chemical that makes us feel good. Similarly, when we are sad, the brain releases cortisol, a hormone that makes us feel stressed and anxious. The brain also uses past experiences to help us make choices that lead to positive emotions. For example, we have had positive experiences with a particular activity, such as playing sports or listening to music. In that case, the brain will encourage us to engage in those activities again.
Interestingly, our dreams can also play a significant role in enhancing creativity. Dreams are thoughts to be the brain's way of processing and organizing information, and they can provide us with insights and inspiration that we might not have considered while awake.
One way to use dreams to enhance creativity is to keep a dream journal. This involves writing down your dreams as soon as you wake up and reflecting on any insights or ideas that come to mind. By doing this regularly, you can identify patterns and themes in your dreams that may inspire new creative ideas or solutions to problems.

This involves setting an intention before going to sleep and focusing on the problem you want to work on. Engineering, problem-solving, and analysis are creative processes. There are several techniques to enhance our creative function; Brainstorming, reverse brainstorming, Mind mapping, forced connections, role-playing, analogies, writing/drawing, visual thinking, and more.

Let's imagine you are planning a vacation with your family. You have several destinations in mind, but you need help deciding which one to choose. You start by listing the different factors that are important to you. However, you need help comparing the various options and selecting. To help you visualize the options and choose, you can create a simple chart or a table with the destinations along the top and the factors along the side. You realize that using the chart lets you quickly compare the options and make an informed decision. It can be as simple as putting a few images on your screensaver to detail mindmaps or just visualizing in your head. It applies to any small or big decision in your life.?
How about chemicals in our brain and how to master it?
The human brain is a complex organ that controls our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It releases various chemicals or neurotransmitters, impacting our decision-making and overall well-being. My favorite chemical that is released in the brain is called endorphins. Endorphins are natural painkillers produced by the body during physical activity, excitement, or stress. They are also known as "feel-good" chemicals because they can induce feelings of euphoria and well-being. Endorphins can be released during exercise, eating, socializing, listening to music, or even laughing. The release of endorphins can impact our decision-making by influencing our mood and behavior. For example, when we are in a positive mood due to the release of endorphins, we may be more likely to make positive and optimistic decisions. We may also be more willing to take risks or try new things. On the other hand, if we are in a negative mood due to a lack of endorphins, we may be more likely to make negative decisions and feel more stressed or anxious.?

Music?is one of my favorite stimulants and drug of choice; it even impacts our dreams and creativity. It is a powerful tool that can affect our brains and stimulate the release of these chemicals, influencing our decision-making and creativity. Different types of music can have other effects on releasing these chemicals, depending on the tempo, rhythm, and genre. Several research has also suggested that music can improve our cognitive performance, memory, and problem-solving abilities, making it an excellent tool for boosting creativity. Youtube and Spotify?are full of this type of sound therapy/music. It uses two slightly different frequencies played simultaneously to create a rhythmic pulse that can stimulate the brain. Proponents of binaural beats claim they can help improve focus, reduce anxiety, enhance creativity, and even promote lucid dreaming. However, there is an ongoing debate about the effectiveness of binaural beats, and more research is needed to fully understand their impact on the brain.
That said, I tried binaural beats a few times, which positively impacted my brain, and it has positively impacted my sleep quality.
