Connections are at our core: My recap from Honeywell Users Group Americas

Getting face-to-face last week was incredibly energizing as we welcomed more than 1,000 customers, channel partners and employees from all over the globe to our 2022 Honeywell Users Group (HUG) Americas Symposium and Channel Partner Conference. There are so many things we in the process industries can do just as well or even better remotely. But at the end of the day, we’re a people business, and it’s great to be back meeting and discussing the future of our industries in person!

At the four-day event, our customers got a chance to meet and build relationships with our Honeywell technical experts and learn about the latest in technology – both from our 200+ technology sessions and demonstrations – and from their peers. Having the ability to physically touch and explore more than 60 technologies represented in the HUG demo center was a great advantage of the in-person experience.

It’s going to be a more diverse future

To help enable the shift to a more diverse future, the event featured an open and candid discussion during a Women in Technology luncheon. My biggest takeaway from the conversation is the dire need for advocates within our industries to speak up to ensure that everyone is included, and a greater range of diverse voices are heard. I saw the panelists after the lunch, extending the discussion and exchanging information with several attendees; making connections that will no doubt help drive change forward. We can all start by having meaningful conversations about what inclusion and diversity looks like in the workplace, and by doing so, we can all become part of the solution.

We’re on the edge of transition

I'm also excited after my customer meetings during HUG because almost every person I talked with indicated that their top priorities are “sustainability” and “digitalization.” I'm pleased to hear that our hypothesis of where we see our customers going, and where the market is evolving is spot on and our business strategy is aligned with what our customers are expecting from us.

At the event, our Chief Technology Officer, Jason Urso, made several announcements that support where our customers and industries are heading, with three key stories being:

Our Honeywell products and services have been helping our customers control costs, reduce downtime, increase productivity, and improve safety for more than 40 years.?The introduction of these new technologies supports our aim to help industries advance their journey to becoming more efficient, sustainable, autonomous, and diverse.?

Let’s continue the conversation

I’m looking forward to our next HUG Symposium – this time in Madrid, Spain on October 24-27, 2022. It will be another chance for us to get together in person and continue our conversations. I’m looking forward to connecting with you there!
