Connections

Every week, on a Monday, I bring out a LinkedIn newsletter that’s free to consume (and join) which helps you better understand the practicalities of business.

In that bubble I am the god of a universe of my own making. My tips, ideas, suggestions and observations born of my own knowledge and experience and filtered through the business engagement and interaction with companies whose managers I advise, are like fairy dust sprinkled from the sky; transforming what you do.

Thankfully, I don’t take myself too seriously and I am aware enough to know the invaluable impact those people I connect with, have on me. In homage to those connections but also as a direct acknowledgement that it is impossible for me, or anyone else for that matter, to have an exclusivity on great suggestions, tips and ideas, I’ve brought together, this week three great reads for you to ponder on as you go about your daily business.

In no particular order, Richard Hussey discusses brand and identity and the value of the two as he explores what it means to be authentic.

Bruce McTague explores the meaning of truth, its absolute nature and how context can undermine it or strengthen it as he explores whether truth can be both contextual and timeless and eternal.

Finally, the trio is clinched with Scott Monty who explores our machine/man interactive future through the ethics of the present. He asks whether, in seeking to engage with machines, are we truly looking to shed our own sense of humanity?

All of these questions impact business. They shape our sense of purpose, affect who we are (identity), form and direct our values, guide our behavior, determine our beliefs and, ultimately, create the world we are in today.

I’d urge you to follow these three of course but that’s up to you, as always. I will urge you however to dive deep into the pieces shared here and ruminate at length on the subjects they cover.?
