Connections Become Opportunities
Connections become opportunities! Your network plays a significant role in your Net Worth. Net worth, not just financially but also in other essential areas like your growth value, peace of mind, and leadership currency. I remember a successful friend I truly admired sharing this advice with me like it was yesterday.
How can I put that power to work for me? I asked a natural question!
Well! I would truly understand the value of good connections and take weekly time to start and develop new ones. He shared casually, looking over at the river and a kid's boat.
Hmm, this a relatively simple insight that I have overlooked till now.
How many new relations a week would be a good number? I asked, thinking it would be 50 + or something (Sales mindset).
Oh, just one or two, he relaxingly replied as he nodded his head in confirmation.
What? Just one or two? I asked, surprisingly! Yup, just one of two, he repeated.

So fast forward to today; Businesswise, I am partnered with a highly successful business group that builds consumer networks and leads business growth through micro-channel partnerships.
I am also active in real estate, mortgage and property development. I am blessed with what is a dream life to many, a loving wife, two kids, faith-based living and the aspirations to achieve the very best life. I am immensely grateful. Everything good I have got going in my life today is because of the connections I have created.
I have always been a mediocre singer. Please don't laugh; my kids are annoyed over it; back to the article. I have always been a mediocre singer, a lousy golfer and an average cook. However, after hearing that advice, I became intentional at starting and developing good relationships. Today the differences between industries, backgrounds or experiences don't matter near as much as a resounding yes to the "Can we both potentially benefit by connecting" question.
If you see the relational value playing in your life the way I see it in mine, I would love to hear about your experiences in the comments.?
Here is the rest of that advice from this successful friend -Your association dictates most of your thinking process. You will capitalize or miss on more opportunities due to whom you know VS what you know.?Be careful whom you keep in your network, and the good news is that you can start from being lonely and build a robust network for any industry or purpose within a year.
