Build coherent team dynamics ? theCoRD.ai ? Systemic team coach with a crush on AI
3 words that might be spelled differently, but point to the same essence: things built from the heart are optimised, sustainable and long lasting. (oh, did I ever tell you that cord in Romanian means heart?)
Why we all need coherence in the workplace
Coherence is a state where your heart, mind, emotions and physical systems operate in harmonious alignment. This occurs when people are resonating in the energy field of care, kindness, genuine listening and cooperation. Team coherence occurs when a group achieves harmonious and stable relationships. Individual members are responsible and free to do their part while aligning with the team's goals. This built or fostered state reduces stress and anxiety, creating mental clarity for better decision-making or creative endeavours.
Are you actively working to build synchronised team units within your organisation??What you’re missing if your teams are not coherent:
The neuroscience of coherence
Work in the office has become work anywhere, as we are all shifting from traditional to digital-first, hybrid or distributed team models. The digital revolution has expanded the boundaries of collaboration, requiring a new blueprint for team dynamics that transcends physical spaces.??
Building high-performance, efficient work systems and teams in the distributed and remote era starts with fostering coherence. The transformation from a group of skilled individuals into a unified, coherent team is often like capturing lightning in a bottle: elusive, yet immensely powerful when harnessed.?
At the heart of coherent teams lies a mix of neuroscience and psychology. Just as athletes in a team create this symbiotic entity able to play and win, members of a coherent team exchange ideas, feedback, and support, creating a rhythm that moves the entire team (and its projects) forward. The past years of experimentation in new team models and environments have demonstrated that the science of human interaction can be turned into a formula for organisation excellence.

From sports fields to work environments?
In sports, coaching is pivotal to unlocking a team’s potential. The coach harmonises the team, instilling a sense of unity and purpose. He or she is omnipresent in the core of the team by the values and significance that are created before the game and during the match. In sports, building coherent teams requires a culture that prioritises clarity, empathy, and shared goals. In sports, you’ve definitely seen what happens when a team is created under the same framework. It appears that the players are "in-sync" and somehow communicating with each other in an unseen way. In those moments team members often talk about being "in the zone" and having a sense of connectedness and harmony. Teams such as professional and Olympic sports teams, Special Forces military units and emergency room teams. The actual team spirit is the team cohesion. Below you can see how 54 Brazilian National Skydiving team members utilised this energetic connection to create a coherent team and a complicated formation during free fall. It's a great example of working together (coherently) and being "in the zone".?
