The Connection Between Our Voice and Our Emotions

I’m really on fire about sharing with you this series on what I call “Emotional Power and Freedom.” In our last email I talked about when we don’t allow ourselves to accept and feel our emotions we will definitely experience consequences in our life and in our work.?
In coaching thousands of people to empower their voices in their performances, talks and presentations, I’ve found that there is a powerful and profound connection between finding and freeing our voice and freeing our emotions.?
When you don’t fully use your voice, you can feel disconnected from yourself and your true feelings, which can lead to frustration, anxiety, depression, or just feeling numbed out. I’ve experienced all of these.
I know it may feel scary to start feeling emotions that you've been avoiding. But getting in touch with and expressing your true emotions is a journey that you'll take?one step at a time. You just need a safe and effective way to feel them. Remember that your emotions are your friends?- all of them, even the ones we call negative. They are there for us to recognize what is going in our lives so we can shift our energy, get aligned with what we truly want?and take positive action. And being fully in touch with our emotions is crucial for our creative life.
This way of working with my emotions has changed my life. I used to have so much anxiety around my creativity?and having a successful?coaching business. And it still comes up, but now I have a way of transforming that energy and start?feeling good again. Just yesterday I went into emotional overwhelm and?numbed out for part of the day. When I recognized what I was doing, I started to use my voice by singing and working with my?Emotional Power and Freedom Process?and my positive energy started flowing.
Science tells us that our emotions are stored in our bodies, and when we don't express them, they can become stuck and cause tension and discomfort. Freeing up your voice and working with vocal sounds can help release emotions that are blocked within you by allowing you to express them in a safe and non-judgmental manner.
The first step that you can take to unleash these uncomfortable emotions is to be willing to acknowledge them. When?something happens in your life and you start to feel angry, just say to yourself, "wow, I'm feeling pissed off or I'm feeling mad." Say it out load and don't judge yourself for feeling it or saying it. You can even take 5 minutes and journal about it. The important thing in the beginning is to just notice it.
By Finding and Freeing our Voice we unlock a whole new level of Emotional Freedom
The benefits of finding and freeing our voices and emotions are countless.?
I’ve used my?Emotional Power and Freedom Process?with my artist and performance clients, actors, voice-over artists, singers, media personalities, and even leaders and entrepreneurs and they have had amazing results.
Before they embraced this process they all kept telling me the same things…
Now, all that has changed for them. They have experienced more artistic and creative fulfillment, career success, and increased financial rewards. All Good!
If you've been feeling stuck or struggling to process your emotions, consider exploring the connection between finding and freeing your voice and freeing your emotions.
There is a way to unlock our emotions and express them appropriately.?There is a way to free them up so we can be empowered by expressing them, both in our work and in our personal lives.?
In the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about? The Emotional Power and Freedom Process?and giving you some amazing insights into…
