Connecting through Community

Connecting through Community

Connecting a community is more than a buzz word. It means more than a headline used to progress a sales goal. To connect is the foundation of our company. To bring our communities into Proximity with each other has been and continues to be the entire "why" behind Proximity Space. Today we received an amazing gift from a connected member, states away. This previous stranger, in an instance, has connected with our community, company and our purpose by just sharing his story.

Growing up in Montrose, there weren't the kinds of spaces that cultivated creative thinking and gave entrepreneurs a place to share ideas and resources. After graduating MHS, I moved to California in hopes of finding this kind of environment in which I was pleased to have discovered. I started my company (@fuelbox) here when I was 21 and have to attribute much of my success to the collaborative co-working spaces here in Santa Barbara. When the newest co-working space in town opened up (The Sandbox), its founder asked me and my partners to be the keynote for their first event. The event went very well and afterwards I congratulated Kyle Ashby on creating such a lively space for our community of entrepreneurs and he was excited to say that he was partnering with a network of co-working spaces based out of MONTROSE, COLORADO! I was taken back to hear that my little hometown of Montrose now has a place for forward-thinking minds to thrive.
I literally became teary-eyed thinking that there is now a place smack dab in the middle of our mountain valley town to foster the minds of local innovators, outcasts and misfits and guide them toward success. From someone who intimately knows the value of these spaces, I just want to thank all of you involved in making this happen. I look forward to visiting the flagship location when I am back in town and supporting you in the years to come.
Cheers,
Robert Herr

Bridging the distance and solving the barriers of our new workforce is such a powerful mission and one we take to heart.

Thank you for connecting Robert...

Kyle Ashby how awesome is that? Robert Herr your story is the reason why Proximity Space is doing the work it is doing. We hope to create a network of spaces that allows our young entrepreneurs the ability to always have access to creative thinking and community.
