Every organization aims to create a good atmosphere for the employees to work in; this will help them to enjoy the time they are spending at work while it makes them more relaxed and more productive. Having a nice view, nice furniture, a bright wall or friendly pictures on the walls might be one way, however, is not the most important one.
A very important reason which will keep employees coming happy to work is their team. A good team provides support to the individual and the sense that each of us belongs to our workplace as well as that we are contributing to something. In addition, when more than one people are working towards a common goal, the workload is split among more people who can contribute with different ways due to their different backgrounds, knowledge and experience, and usually gives better results for both the individual’s and the organization’s goals.
However, in order to achieve a quality team work, the team members need to feel close and comfortable with each other. In order to do that, there are several different ways.
Open door Communication
When the employees feeling their superior support are willing to share more information about things that might worrying them, and they tend to ask for help easier.
Promote a balance between work and life
Encourage the team to have activities outside the office which will help them to enjoy their free time; or even create activities which will include all the team members, such as sporting events. This will give them the opportunity to spend more time together and learn a different side of each other.
Try to actually learn about each other
People tend to be more loyal when they are feeling they are having a friendlier relationship with their superiors rather than the typical boss – employee one.
Share meals / drinks
Either you are all eating together or going for a drink after work, all the team members are going to feel more relax, share more information about themselves to each other and will create a friendlier relationship among the team.
Team – Building Workshops
Helps the team members to learn more information about the rest of the group for both their inside and outside from work life. Furthermore, it helps them to bring new ideas on the table which might help the others to increase their strengths either on professional or on personal level.
Create events
Either it is an anniversary or a birthday, all the team can celebrate together; this will release the work tension and will bring the team together.
Theme days
It will be like a work party without actually disturbing the work schedule. Make days more special such as Chinese food or pizza day or even Halloween by dressing in a certain way, buying a certain food or decorating the office will bring the team together in a simple and fun way.
