Connecting the Dots

Connecting the Dots

Coaching sessions are intentional conversations which can end on a powerful level. Ending a session a couple of nights ago, this came out:

"Joy comes from our inner world but unfortunately that’s not where we live."

It made me think a lot about joy afterwards.??

To experience true joy in our life, we have to be able to step outside of ourself and bring that joy into our outer world. It is in doing so that we connect our inner and outer worlds and bring the greater good to those around us.

Ask what we can do to serve others. Whether it’s loved ones, people in our inner circle - friends, colleagues - or total strangers, even those we don’t particularly care for - ask how we can use our gifts and talents to support them, serve them in some way, brighten their day, support them to become a better version of themselves.

You’re special - why keep that joy inside??

Do it deliberately and you can be really creative, in ways you never thought you could be. From simple things like paying a compliment, thanking, honoring, showing kindness and compassion to giving and helping by sharing what you know - without expecting any thanks.

Because what you do and the opportunity you have to be of service to someone else is an investment of your joyful emotional energy - and that is your reward.

So, deliberately, each day, do something to make someone's day. Your joy is only truly felt and lived when you intentionally serve others.

Have a joyful day!
