Connecting the dots
I guess many of us corporate folks (and even non-corporate ones) started connecting the dots in our lives after watching Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address. I was one of them, and it was around 2011 when I first watched it, still in college (ah, the good old days).
It surprises me that even after being on LinkedIn for over 12 years, this is my first article. So here I am, ready to put down all my questions, confusions, understandings, and musings to share with the world. Just as the barriers of the workplace have shattered between the office and home, so have the boundaries between personal and professional life. Starting this 1st of the month, I will attempt to connect the dots of my life—career struggles and emotional wins, passions and perspectives, learnings, and most importantly, everything I have unlearned. This encompasses not just my professional experiences but also my journey from the moment I began to understand the world around me.
But why is connecting the dots important to me?

Because that can get us the answers and solutions to our questions and problems. As humans, we create these segments in our minds, separate our things, priorities, focus, and in the process, maybe lose the view of the bigger picture of life. I once attended a seminar about "Creative Sagacity" by Anuraag S where I learned this term called "bisociation." That seminar, and this word, changed my entire outlook on problem-solving. Bisociation for me is connecting the dots. I have so many things to talk about, and I tried to do that on multiple episodes of my Dhvani Podcast, but the repertoire of experiences and learnings is ever-growing. There's so much more to learn, tell, and understand. So together, let's all try to connect those dots. Let's try to make sense of all those things in our past lives that might have seemed unnecessary at that moment; today, they might hold a very important meaning. Let's think, let's write.
If you, like me, are interested in a hundred things and often confused by thousands, join me on this journey of "trying to make sense." My plan is to do this through writing—a skill that I believe is profoundly useful in every aspect of life. I've been thinking about writing daily, but somehow, I've managed to procrastinate for far too long. Not anymore. For now, I'll go easy on myself with one article every week, without the help of AI for content. Okay, I might use it for proofreading and fixing grammar, but the ideas will be my own. If you're up for the challenge, let me know by tagging your article with #articlewritingchallenge and my LinkedIn handle. I would also appreciate your thoughts, inputs, and feedback on this endeavor. Let's do this!
