Connecting The Dots!

Connecting The Dots!

This week I was again reading one of my favourite books 'The Serendipity Mindset', The Art and Science of creating Good Luck written by Dr Christian Busch. There is so much I could relate to my life and the ongoing crisis. I am sharing a few excerpts from one of the Chapters of the Book. Connecting Dots is all about how we frame the world – establishing a core motivation, seeing and connecting the dots, turning them into opportunities and (potentially) accelerating and amplifying them. We are more than two years into the ongoing crisis, and we certainly can connect the dots as to how the world has changed forever. Lockdowns literally forced all of us to pause and reflect on what's working and what's not working. It made us all Work from Home/Anywhere, making World as one Marketplace. Experts predict 'Work from Anywhere' will be the Normal way of working in the next few years, thus giving everyone equal opportunity to work irrespective of the place they are born or live. We can't Connect the Dots looking forward; we can only Connect the Dots looking backwards.

We need to be optimistic even when we are surrounded by cynics. We need to start as optimists to then become the real realists. If we take someone as they are, we make them worse, but if we treat them as who they could be, we enable them to become who they could be. We at Jeevitam are working with a Mission to enable Vulnerable Segments of our Society Self Reliant & Self Dependent. Understanding our own capabilities, combined with an open mind, can help us enormously to connect the dots when the unexpected happens. Keeping an open mind is thus particularly important. We all need to question many of our own beliefs and biases (of which there are many), and to rethink things such as success and what we take for granted. Serendipity is not a single event but a process that depends on creating and seeing triggers and connecting the dots – allowing us to turn once in a life time event like the ongoing crisis into good opportunity to change the world through our own efforts.

Serendipity is frequently co-created and sometimes relies on the goodwill of others. Others can envision opportunities or talents in us that we don’t see – or, given their different areas of knowledge, they can connect dots that we don’t have on our radar, opening the opportunity space even further. In our Startup Jeevitam we have seen this happening first hand. We use AI & Voice Based Technology to help Vulnerable Segments & Entry level work seekers find sustainable livelihood. In the last two years since the onset of crisis we have been able to create ecosystem of Government Bodies, Skilling Entities, Education Institutions, CSRs & Foundations, Corporates & Startups who have evolved use cases with our technology which we had not envisioned earlier. We did let them know what our technology is capable of or what we were looking for, we did seed potential triggers for them to know what & how we were using our technology to reach the unreachable. I have personally experienced, seeding potential triggers is at the core of what people who experience serendipity en masse do. Connecting the dots helps turn them into a positive outcome. Both are key; sometimes they happen step by step, sometimes at the same time.

So Keep Connecting the Dots.

Happy Sunday!! Keep Moving & Smiling!!??????
