Connecting the Dots: May 2022

May is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. Our networks across the country are working to improve maternal mental health and overall health and social outcomes for new and expecting parents from every walk of life. We’ll be sharing stories from key partners driving impact to improve maternal health all month across our channels.

Our Keep Us Moving Forward Town Hall last month was a huge success! Did you miss it? Watch it on demand today ! We want to thank our panelists, team members, and attendees for keeping the conversation engaging and thought provoking. As Liz Whitworth, Managing Director of the Oregon Health Leadership Council, said: “When we all are connected, there is so much we can do to help people.” Together, let’s continue to be bold, be visionary, and change health outcomes for the better.

Quote of the Month

“We encountered a mom of two. She and her husband had just arrived in America, and [she] was having difficulty navigating our health systems, toppled by a language barrier. She was referred by a church member who had heard of our Healing Hub initiative, and through NCCARE360, someone donated a stroller, baby bathing station, and an extra car seat. Our social navigator found her a health provider to get her baby’s check-up. We stayed to translate the important instructions provided by the doctors, giving her confidence and gratitude to our care team throughout the whole process. The common denominator of the collaborative network is servitude, compassion, and excellence.” – IC Puerto Nuevo, our partner in the NCCARE360 network
