Connecting with customers is our universal strength
One of the many things I love about working in agriculture is the people, including farmers, business partners, teams, experts in all kinds of specialty fields, and more. I enjoy learning from them and collaborating with them – and I got the chance to share some of those conversations with you throughout the year as part of the Field Talk audio updates I’ve posted on LinkedIn.
This series has been a fun way to connect with colleagues – some who live relatively nearby, like agronomist Jay Zielske, who talked about the “space age” of ag and how the last 30 years in our industry have provided technology and tools to help farmers do their job better. And then there are those on the other side of the world, like Italy country leader Gabriele Burato, who are seeing firsthand how hybrid seeds are helping farmers build businesses across generations.
A common theme for our team is no matter where we are, we connect and build trust with customers. That’s a really powerful recognition of our people, our values and the kind of company we are. Our products are incredibly useful tools – but a real differentiator for Corteva is the knowledge and partnership our teams bring to customers.
With that in mind, here are a few things I’ve noted in revisiting my Field Talk updates from 2023.
1.???? We have an unmatched ability to bring solutions to tough challenges. In my talk with Monica Sorribas, who was then Central and Eastern Europe Commercial Unit Leader, it was clear that we were able to help farmers find solutions despite war and supply chain issues.

2.???? Service is personal, and emotional. Corteva’s president of the Asia Pacific region, Rahoul Sawani, noted how Pioneer has impacted the lives of farmers for 50 years. It’s not just about buying seed. Pioneer represents a better life for farmers and an investment into their future.
3.???? Expertise and technology are fueled by passion. My conversations with Darin Doerr and Geoff Graham demonstrated that incredible advancements in ag technology in the last 30 years have been driven by a passion connected to a social obligation to feed the world.
These are just a few themes from these conversations over the last year, and I encourage you to check out these updates if you haven’t already – or do so again, especially if you’re looking for some inspiration. I want to thank the people who’ve shared their stories and everyone who has helped make it ?possible to share them with you.
Also, I want to thank those of you who have listened. I hope you’ve learned a thing or two, and I would love to hear what you’d like to hear more about in 2024.
