Looking to appeal to a broader local clientele? Here are some of my preferred approaches to achieve quick victories and enhance the visibility of your enterprise (assuming, of course, that you have a website—address this promptly if not).

? Establish a Google Business Profile (opt for a service area business and refrain from revealing your address unless you desire unexpected visitors) also known as GBP

? Strive for comprehensive completion of your business profile.

? Solicit reviews, enhancing your business's visibility

? The significance of the GBP lies in its impact on Google search rankings, where proximity plays a pivotal role

? Respond promptly to inquiries on your GBP

? Incorporate your city/state/country into your site's SEO title/description (for instance, my own reads Marketing & Business Strategist)

? If there are region-specific matters relevant to your industry (e.g., financial planners addressing state tax concerns or sustainability consultants showcasing local expertise), create a topic cluster targeting these unique local issues

? Include a site description in your website footer, incorporating your location

? Steer clear of unethical practices such as establishing local GBPs in areas without a physical presence or creating repetitive location pages on your site.

? Engage with local groups—chambers of commerce, neighborhood business associations, affinity groups, etc.! These entities frequently organize events with guest speakers, providing opportunities for learning and networking.

? Avoid making assumptions about the financial capabilities of individuals in your region—I have yet to encounter a location lacking an audience capable of affording high-end services if that's what you offer

? Do not presume that, because you offer courses, targeting local individuals is unimportant—some of these individuals may prove valuable for licensing your products to their teams.

There's a plethora of additional strategies available, but the aforementioned steps already surpass the efforts of most online-centric businesses.
