A few years ago, I found myself trapped in a really dark place. Despite my achievements, my relationships, and the life I had built, I felt a horrible emptiness. The dark thoughts that clouded my mind brought me closer to the edge than I'd ever like to admit. But reflecting upon those moments, I understand now that what pulled me back was the warmth and love of the people around me.
I share this not for sympathy or shock value, but because in those moments of sheer vulnerability, understanding that I wasn't alone in those feelings was one of my most potent lifelines. The power of genuine connection – the mere knowledge that someone cares – can be lifesaving.
This very realization influenced a significant decision in my life. I recently sold my company, not merely as a business decision but as a pivot towards what truly mattered to me: giving back. Nobody should feel they're navigating the turbulent waters of life alone. In moments of darkness, it's essential to extend your hand, because there are so many of us waiting to grasp it and pull you back into the light.
Love is transformative. And the most profound healing, for me, emerged not only from allowing love to seep into my wounds but from actively dispensing it to those around me. In the intricacies of our human existence, our true nature, stripped of societal masks, is pure love. And what feels more beautiful than sharing that love?
In the past months, I've made a conscious effort to be more present, both emotionally and physically. Be it a touch, a compliment, or just sharing a genuine smile with a stranger – these tiny actions create ripples of positivity. The most fulfilling part of my day? Sending a simple "Good morning!! I wish you a beautiful day" message to acquaintances I know might be struggling. It's heartening to know they value these little check-ins, and having been in their shoes, I understand the solace such gestures bring.

STARTING this National Suicide Prevention Month, I urge you to open up and extend love more freely. It doesn’t take grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s the smallest actions that hold the most significant impact. To anyone reading this: know that love and help are always around, even if it doesn't seem that way. And for everyone else, REALLY listen and keep an eye out for signs, be there, and spread love.
If you resonate with this sentiment and commit to sharing your love, please comment below with "I am love." Your words might just become a beacon of hope for someone in need.
You're never alone in this journey.
With much Love,
Sabine
