Connecticut's Economic Future
Connecticut's is recovering more slowly than the national economy--and never recovered following the Great Recession. It has a steep hill to climb, but it has the assets to meet that challenge. The question is whether it will aggressively implement and pursue policies and investments (e.g. infrastructure) necessary to restoring economic vitality. See this commentary.

2 年Thank you for a most incisive op-ed Prof FC - "and, with the new data center legislation, the potential to build a strong IT infrastructure.". Pleased to see that the Data Center Bill 2021 HB 6514 (PA 21-1) finally make it through after well over a decade when the need was first shown. Over a decade ago, some of us were advocating state agencies for data centers in the state (using incentives like "stranded" tax credits for R&D, etc). Our Microsoft developer group CTDOTNET was working with Azure Cloud Computing centers around Sept 2009 (tweet below*). We were hoping then that the state would incentivize companies to develop data centers in CT. The state has now finally embraced it albeit a decade late. Microsoft Azure products and services bring in more revenue for Microsoft than any other product offerings. It also fuels newer technologies like Artificial Intelligence AI, Machine Learning, VR, Gaming, etc.? *CTDOTNET Cloud Computing Azure Sept 2009 -? https://twitter.com/sbc111/status/4355609492
