Connected on Linkedin…..now what?

?

I am considered an early adopter of Linkedin, over 20 years ago from a time when they had sequential membership numbers.

If you are reading this Linkedin article, there is a high probability that you and I are connected as first tier connections on Linkedin.

Now what do we do? Are your connections dormant? Sitting quietly like a punished school child in the corner of the room?

Try this, maybe not today, but soon.? Reach out to someone, either via Linkedin, email, text, telephone.? Perhaps suggest a virtual cup of coffee, meet up or create a Zoom/Teams video chat.? Move the ball forward. I submit that if you don’t reach into your network, it can be equated to having a good old telephone directory gathering dust on your shelf.

You can simply stay connected on LinkedIn, or you can take proactive steps to turn those connections into valuable relationships. Engage with your network by reaching out, offering assistance, sharing valuable insights, and scheduling regular catch-ups. This way, you transform a passive network into an active, supportive community that can contribute to your professional growth and business success.

You…yeah you!? If you are a business professional, you probably have a story to tell, as do I.

Over here, I have been recruiting for clients for even longer than my Linkedin membership.? I know I have a story to tell.? The recruiting business has grown from cold calling to networking.? Recently, Marcum Search took our business to the step level. Over the years we grew, expanded beyond recruiting for our parent accounting firm, to recruiting for other accounting firms. And then for non-Accounting positions, and then for non-Accounting companies. We carefully brought in professionals in IT/Tech recruiting and capitalized on the synergy of Marcum Technology.? Our West Coast growth built a legal recruiting team to support companies that needed to hire Counsel or for law firms that needs support staff like paralegals or EAs.

Following the Marcum model of mergers and acquisitions, Marcum Search embraced other recruiting units under our wings. Supported by internal IT, operations, yes - even refreshments.

And now, the next level.

We have been acquired by CBIZ, a national professional services firm of 10,000 professionals.? Our recruiting team sits shoulder to shoulder with other professional service units like Employee Benefits, Insurance, Payrolling, Birkman testing, Tax Accounting, Audit/Assurance.? This creates a vast network of contacts to help serve external client companies that need our recruiting or staffing services for full time hires or temp hires.

Me? Perhaps I am waiting to see if YOU will reach out to compare notes on your hiring strategies, tactics and execution…and your recruiting/staffing needs.? I admit, with my own 16,000 Linkedin connections, it will be hard for me to offer comfort to all of my connections, but perhaps I’ve lit a spark in your moment to contact us at CBIZ.
