Connected beyond the Cloud

Industry 5.0 aims to bring productivity and efficiency while ensuring contribution to society by balancing technology and respecting natural resources. This complements the potential benefits of Artificial Intelligence to drive maximum value while collaborating with humans (and focusing on well-being) and Web3 to drive trust in those transactions. This convergence of Industry 5.0, Web3, and edge computing will amplify the impact it will have on everyone. ?As per Edge Computing Market report, IMARC group expects the global edge compute market to reach $45.2B by 2028 with a CAGR of 25.4%.

I envision that in the future, more machines and humans will collaborate to simplify business operations, enhance their productivity, and create new business values. This can be achieved as we transition to devices with capabilities that enable Artificial Intelligence on the Edge with the focus on user context. Imagine ChatGPT on steroids with a physical device for your businesses, or personal life with data security and trust. It could be your wristwatch, goggles, phone, earphone, TV, car, refrigerator, smart house, or a new form of device. This device would have the capability to add new value to your life or business. This could mean better healthcare diagnosis, AI warfare capability, oil drilling, Trace and Track, Fire detection and evacuation plan (in real-time), inventory flexibilities, capabilities for smart cities, etc. This means that a lot of this value will come from devices outside of the Cloud.

Today, there are a limited number of companies who are helping enterprises manage their devices on the edge (with or without AI capabilities). We see a number of challenges including edge resources constraints, data quality, intellectual property, enterprise security, infrastructure management, data processing, privacy, latency, interoperability, integration, and other challenges. There is also a question about managing AI workload at the edge or creating a contextual AI driven experience. The big three – AWS, Google, and Microsoft are focused purely on the public cloud (and hybrid cloud). A business with both physical and digital footprint may not want to leverage public cloud due to trade secrets/intellectual property or form-factor suitable for execution outside the cloud. This gives a white space and an innovation opportunity for company like ours who focuses on platform and industry micro-verticals. (#Asymtos).

There can be many advantages of these trends (Industry 5.0, Web3, and AI) when manifested at the Edge. These can be protection of business intellectual property, intelligence on the edge, real insights quickly, lower cost of operations (without data storage/transmission in the cloud), and highly available Edge devices. These advantages and the white space (described above) opens an opportunity for not only semi-conductor companies but also for platform creators that provides interface, platform agnostic of the device and possibly solutions for specific industry use-cases.

Imagine running business workloads at the Edge improving efficiency and delivering contextual intelligence. At Asymtos, we are creating a platform the allows you to manage/orchestrate your devices while enabling AI at the edge with out of box AI models ready to be deployed. We are creating a platform that allows you to interface any CPUs, GPUs, DPUs, or Rasberry Pi type of devices through an enriched user portal with out of box AI models or capability to deploy AI models through Docker images. In conclusion, this space that allows your devices to live outside/beyond the cloud yet connected if you chose to provide business outcomes specifically enabling Industry 5.0, Web3 and AI.
