Firstly, we would like to congratulate you on the excellent exam result in June 2023 session. What tips would you share with other ACCA students preparing for their exams?

Thank you very much! I have come across numerous success stories on ACCA's social media platform and never imagined that I would become one of them. It is an immense honor for me.

To be candid, there are no secret tricks, but I would like to emphasize the significance of having a well-structured study plan and maintaining discipline throughout the preparation process. Sharing my own experience, I decided to focus on one ACCA paper per exam session as it allowed me to concentrate on a specific subject. Initially, I created an Excel-based study plan, calculating the number of days required to cover the syllabus and allocate time for revision using different personal circumstances and workload as considerations. Moreover, I always made sure to set aside some days for study breaks and rest. Following this plan rigorously was key to my success.

What were the biggest challenges on your ACCA journey? How did you overcome them?

The most significant challenge I encountered was finding the time, motivation, and energy to study amidst my demanding work schedule. However, I firmly believed that obtaining the ACCA qualification, along with the invaluable knowledge and skills it brings, would greatly enhance my future career prospects. This understanding served as a powerful driving force, enabling me to overcome these obstacles.

To ensure progress, I remained committed to following my study plan diligently. Gradually, it became a part of my daily routine and a well-formed habit.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family and colleagues for their unwavering support throughout this journey. Their encouragement and backing have been a constant source of enthusiasm and confidence for me. I am especially thankful to my current supervisor, Akylai Apylova, who always provided me with study leaves despite busy workload.

Have you used any tuition provided by ACCA learning partners? If yes, could you please specify which one and how had it helped you to get the exam result?

Based on my personal experience, I found three main resources helpful for my ACCA preparation: opentuition.com, BPP, and Kaplan. While each of them has its merits, I ultimately prefer BPP due to its balanced approach.

Opentuition.com provides a concise overview of the material, which can be beneficial for quick reviews and grasping key concepts. On the other hand, Kaplan offers very detailed content, which can be useful for in-depth understanding but may be overwhelming at times.

For me, BPP struck the perfect balance. It provides comprehensive study material without being overly verbose, allowing me to cover the syllabus thoroughly while managing my study time effectively.?

Tell me how passing any ACCA exam has helped you in your career so far?

Presently, I hold the position of a finance associate at UNFPA Kyrgyzstan, and I love my job and colleagues. The competition to secure a position within the UN system is undeniably difficult, and I think that pursuing the ACCA qualification played a significant role in the selection panel's decision to choose me. I firmly hold the belief that events in life are not mere coincidences; rather, they are guided by a higher purpose, and I trust that everything unfolds according to the will of God. We must strive to do our best effort, patiently await the outcomes, and have faith in the greater plan.

Why do you want to become ACCA qualified? What is your biggest dream, goal, aspiration?

Back in 2015, I first came across the ACCA qualification while working as an assistant to an auditor. At that time, it appeared to be a challenging, time-consuming, and seemingly impossible endeavor. Partly it was true. Despite my employer's willingness to cover the associated expenses, I didn't immediately embark on the path to pursue the ACCA qualification. Nevertheless, deep down, I always knew that one day I would undoubtedly obtain this prestigious certification. That moment finally arrived in January 2020 when I came across a post on social media announcing the successful completion of all ACCA exams by one of my ex-colleagues. His accomplishment served as a strong trigger for me, and I realized that if he could achieve it, so could I. From that very day, I committed myself to studying for the ACCA almost daily and managed to pass all exams on my first attempts.

Since my early school years, I have passion for mathematics, and growing up in a family of finance professionals instilled in me the aspiration to become a qualified financial specialist working within an international organization. Obtaining the prestigious ACCA qualification marked a significant milestone on this journey, reaffirming my dedication to excel in the financial field.

If you could give a single most important piece of advice to the current students or those who haven’t decided to register for ACCA yet, what would it be?

Indeed, starting any new endeavor can often be the most challenging part. My advice to aspiring ACCA candidates would be to take that first step without dwelling on the difficulties or time it may consume. As the saying goes, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." So, begin your ACCA journey with determination and perseverance.

Breaking down the larger goal of ACCA qualification into smaller, manageable milestones is a valuable strategy.

I can personally attest to the power of motivation and encouragement from others. Three years ago, a post from my ex-colleague served as the impetus for me to pursue the ACCA qualification. I hope that my own words can now serve as inspiration to someone else, motivating them to embark on this rewarding journey as well. Remember, with dedication and persistence, you can overcome any challenges and achieve success in your pursuit of the ACCA qualification.
