Congratulations to Sarah Dewilde, Our Latest DAISY Award Winner

Please join me in congratulating Cross Country’s September DAISY Award recipient, Sarah Dewilde, BSN, RN, who is currently on assignment with Cross Country TravCorps.

The accolades that led to Sarah’s nomination were numerous: Conscientious in all she does. Empathetic. Supportive. Meticulous. Thorough. Takes time to teach and train student nurses, recognizing the importance of training them thoroughly. Friendly. Easy to talk to. Knowledgeable and capable. Made a scary, anxious experience calm and orderly.

Believe it or not, that was just a partial list of the praise Sarah has recently received for her work. Sarah, we can’t thank you enough for being a part of the Cross Country team. Your exemplary performance on the job is an inspiration to us all.

 About the Daisy Award

The DAISY Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, whose life was shortened by an autoimmune disease at the age of 33. As a way to honor his memory, but also to recognize the nursing excellence that so impressed them during his hospitalization, they came up with the acronym D.A.I.S.Y., which stands for “diseases attacking the immune system.” Daisy Award recipients are selected based on special personal acts of kindness and compassion they provide patients and their families as well as outstanding clinical skill.
