LinkedIn has just signed a pre-let to take 83,000 sq ft of offices within the redeveloped former Guardian Building on Farringdon Road, known as the Ray Building.
The former building was stunning in its architecture and was a landmark in the area. AHMM architects have done the old building proud and the new scheme offers stunning offices with tiered levels and significant outdoor space, together with a gallery and cafe on the ground floor.
At a rumoured rent paid of £70 per sq ft for the lower to middle floors and a premium on the upper levels, the is no doubt that the demand for high quality offices in City fringe locations has not abated. Indeed only last week saw the blow out launch for agents of Helical's Tower building within the Bower scheme on Old Street roundabout, with quoting rents for the upper levels at an eye watering £80 per sq ft plus. Another beautiful AHMM scheme.
The Ray Building was bought for £29m by Viridis, the real estate vehicle of the Saudi Jameel family in 2012.
LinkedIn has operated its break in its current offices in AXA Real Estate’s Castlewood House, 77-91 New Oxford Street, WC1 and will move into The Ray in H1 2019.
