Why did you choose KonKuk University?

I chose this university because the chemical engineering curriculum is systematically organized. There are four major tracks, so I was able to learn professional knowledge by choosing the field I wanted. Among them, I chose the semiconductor and display material course, and it was a great help for what I am currently studying.?

What are you studying and why did you select this field of study??

I am currently studying the ALD process. The reason why I chose this research field is that the role of semiconductors is becoming increasingly important with the development of 4th Industrial Revolution technology, and I thought a semiconductor process field could bring out the best capabilities of a chemical engineering major.?

??What subjects or courses interest you the most???

The subject called 'Electronic Materials and Devices' was the most interesting. Through this subject, I was first introduced to the atomic layer deposition (ALD) process, and it was an opportunity to study this process in depth.?

How did you feel when you heard the news that you would be receiving the scholarship from ASM???

I was so happy and couldn't believe it at first. It was like a gift to me for deciding to study ALD. Also, I thanked the professor for their help, and was motivated to work even harder on my research.?

What impact will this scholarship have on you??

?It gives me confidence and courage in my field of study. In addition, it inspired me to work on getting good results by focusing more on the research that is currently in progress. Through this, I want to grow as a researcher in the semiconductor field, with professional and advanced capabilities in ALD.?

What advice would you give to other students applying for scholarships??

If you are confident in your current research and continue to study in this field, you will get good results.?

Is there someone you look up to for inspiration or who helped contribute to your success??

My parents inspired me and helped me a lot in my success. When I was lost and troubled, they gave me advice on where to go and told me to always do my best in everything I do. My parents' infinite support gave me a lot of courage, and I really want to return the favor by being successful.?

What does the future hold for you and your career??

?I think the semiconductor industry has continuous growth potential for next-generation technologies. Therefore, there will be more human resources needed in this industry, and a lot of research is needed to advance the technology. Therefore, I will become a researcher who strives to develop technologies, such as process optimization and improvement of productivity limits based on the professional and in-depth competence of the ALD process that I am currently studying.?
