CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2020 AND TO THEIR VERY PROUD FAMILIES

I am immensely proud to be able to join our wonderful community and exceptional teaching team in congratulating our Year 13 students on achieving the most successful year of A-Level results at Al Yasmina Academy to date.
Our ‘Outstanding’ ADEK Inspection rating, early in the academic year was a clear indicator that the Academy was very well placed to support this success. However, this incredibly hard working and ambitious group of young people have achieved these remarkable results in the context of some very challenging circumstances. Circumstances that we could have never envisaged at the time.
We of course have some amazing individual success stories within these results. These include students with 4 A*’s in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Further Mathematics as well as a range of Arts and Humanities. These students have secured entry to Universities such as école Polytechnique in Paris, University College London (UCL), King’s College London and Bristol for degree courses that include Philosophy, Electrical Engineering, Law, Architecture and a range of Science disciplines.
This however is only part of the story at Al Yasmina Academy. We truly are a fully inclusive school and our real success remains the value that we add to the outcomes of every single student that studies with us, no matter what their starting point.
We are a very large and diverse Academy and even with these numbers and this diversity, we saw 55% of all grades awarded at A*- B and for the second year in succession a 100% pass rate. In addition, a 10% average increase in results over three years, we are perhaps most proud of the exceptional value added we have seen through our GL CAT and ALP scores combined with the nature of the young people that leave our school. They really have made this a day to be recognised and celebrated by our entire school community.
