Congratulations, Chelsea!

After weeks of keeping a very exciting secret, half Helen is thrilled to finally announce some big news! Chelsea Elliott has been named the 2024 KXAN Remarkable Woman of the Year!

Every year, KXAN recognizes the great contributions women have made to their communities. Remarkable Women is part of a nationwide Nexstar Media initiative to honor the influence that women have had on public policy, social progress, and quality of life. Throughout Women’s History Month, KXAN highlighted four local women culminating with the announcement of Chelsea as the area’s Woman of the Year and a $1,000 donation to half Helen.?

Happy National Volunteer Month!

Did you know that April is National Volunteer Month? half Helen had the pleasure of hosting volunteers from Q2 for a glasses packing event. These dedicated volunteers generously gave their time to sort through and prepare hundreds of glasses for half Helen's school-based program. Their commitment to helping people see the world clearly is truly commendable, and half Helen extends a heartfelt thank you to all volunteers for their invaluable support.

half Helen?in the Community

Chelsea Elliott recently visited Windemere Elementary School to share stories of influential women with fifth graders. She highlighted how inspirational figures like Helen Keller and Governor Ann Richards have shaped her journey and commitment to service.?

By sharing these stories, Chelsea aimed to inspire the next generation and instill in them the importance of resilience, determination, and compassion. The presentation sparked meaningful discussions and encouraged students to dream big and make a positive impact in their communities.
