Congrats to Websauce, winner of Showpad's Battle of the Start-ups. Thanks to everyone who helped us raise €3200 for Music for Life.

Full house Thursday night @Showpad’s HQ in Ghent, where the Showpad Cares team organized the first edition of The Battle of the Start-ups. A quiz night for Music for Life, where start-ups were challenged to test their knowledge and defend the honor of their companies.

After a severe battle, with intellectual as well as physical challenges - the very last questions determined the winner of the neck and neck race.

Whether it was the will to sponsor a good cause or the will to strive for eternal fame, we don’t know. But the event turned out to be a huge success - there were so many registrations that we’ll probably need to look out for a bigger location next year!

"Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our fellow start-up colleagues and Showpad, who covered all the costs related to the event, we are happy to announce that we can donate a beautiful €3200 to Unicef." - Celine Vincent

Our personal highlights:

A quiz question asking participants to identify an image of Teamleader's CEO elicited nearly unanimously correct responses. The only team not to correctly identify the likeness of Teamleader's CEO? Teamleader.

Finding one of the Piesync team members asleep on one of our desks the next morning (small joke) after they won the secretly held beer competition.

A veritable civil war erupted in the Bubblepost team, when teammates displayed heated disagreement over the number of countries in which their company is active. The conflict was quickly resolved by referencing the company website. Which then sparked a new debate in the team over the accuracy of that information.

Raising €1 per social post that included #battleofthestartups #unicef #warmsteweek

The guy who ordered 4 four hotdogs for himself (name withheld).

Showpad who was tipped on all the answers and being pointed out by their CEO that in case of not winning would not need to bother coming back to the office, did not get any further than 3rd place.

Thanks to our sponsors: Quizwitz and Levi Party Rental

And all participating companies: Intuo, Silverfin, Seal Jobs, Dropsolid, Storyme, Bubblepost, Piesync, Roundhouse, Teamleader, In The Pocket, Engagor (Clarabridge), Websauce
