Confronting a violent world...

The outbreak of war and acts of terrorism in Israel this past weekend is horrific and violates our most fundamental human values. Our thoughts, compassion, and prayers are with the families and victims affected in Israel, Palestine, and throughout the world.

While this is a very difficult subject for many people, violence and terrorism are never acceptable and must be condemned. We as a community must recognize that there are people--in every country across the world--who are greatly affected by this. This includes people in your workplace and all around you.

If you have an employee, coworker, or someone in your life who may be greatly affected by the present war in Israel, please do not expect them to be?business as usual. Provide support and be understanding that they may need time off or additional flexibility during this difficult time. Be aware, too, that antisemitism has been on the rise, and hate speech and acts only compound the trauma to our Jewish friends, family, and colleagues.?

There is a quote circulating on social media that summarizes well, what many could be feeling. "If you have less empathy towards victims because of how you feel about their government, propaganda is working on you." We feel this throughout the world.?

It's time for peace on our planet. Reach out to someone, share your compassion, make a difference.?
