A confronting post
I've been debating over whether to share this post (below) or not; it's pretty raw and confronting and many will find it uncomfortable. But, in the end I've chosen to for the very fact that brain tumours ARE raw and confronting. There is no censorship over who can be diagnosed, or for whom tumours mean facing cancer.
What we at the Tahu Hikuroa Foundation are trying to do is build a support network for those people exactly like Tahu and his whanau. A place to tell their stories, a place to reach out and ask for help. A place for all to come together.
Tahu, Knox and I shaved his head that night and I'm not going to lie, I cried
a lot. It is so confronting. It's nothing to do with hair, it's what it means,
why it's coming out, that he looks "sick" now.
It's more obvious and in our face and it sucks.
