According to #PatrickLencioni ′s #5DisfunctionsofaTeam, Conflict is a simple and easy subject to deal with!
#KennethKaye once said, “Conflict is neither good nor bad. Properly managed, it is absolutely vital.”
Surprised? Not at all! " Ah Manuel and what about all emotions involved and the negative build up in tensions that may arise?"
Of course, there always will emotions be involved in what concerns Conflicts. They′re supposed to happen whenever two human beings are together, whomever they may be. From Leaders to Collaborators, from Parents to their Children, Salespeople to Buyers, even between couples who pledged being always together...
However, the biggest difference is the #Mindset we start from! Is it based on Trust or Distrust? From there arises the hugest difference in dealing with it! The basis from all your #Emotion and Rationale derives from the trust (or lack of it) you have in people (and them in you).
So, building a sound basis for People to trust is an answer to dealing healthily with conflicts, since from there on everything develops, to reach High Performing Results.
Ok, and what about conflicts already on going how to deal with them?
Well, first step, breath deep, and know which is your Conflict Management Style, and decide how you will cope with other styles in order to save time and effort in the conflict resolution!
