Configure Ansible Tower to fetch Inventory from Cloudforms

Ansible is an open-source enterprise software provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment tool enabling infrastructure as code. An Inventory is important aspect and there are multiple ways to create it in tower. Detailed information can be referred from this URL:-
In this article, I am going to cover, how to configure ansible tower to fetch inventory from Red Hat Cloudforms on-demand. It requires:-
- Configure relevant Cloudforms Credentials
- Configure Cloudforms as Inventory source.
Configuring Cloudforms Credentials:-
Fill in relevant details i.e Name, Organization, Credential TYPE as Red Hat Cloudforms, Cloudroms URL, username & password of your Cloudforms.
Configuring Cloudforms Inventory Sources
- Create an Inventory e.g. Cloudforms VMs
- Configure Sources by stating Name as All Servers, and selet Source as Red Hat CloudForms, and credentials created in last step.
- Make sure, you checked Overwrite & Update on Launch option.
- Synchronize the inventory by clicking on refresh icon.
- Verify if hosts visible to cloudforms are synced to Tower..
That’s all, your Tower is ready to execute any Job Template on any of the hosts which is visible to Cloudforms.
