As the ancient proverb goes…. “Physician, heal thyself” and when I started working on my TEDx talk – coming up in Florence in August, I realised I needed outside help, because I struggled to take my own medicine! I haven’t felt myself unravelling like that for years. I literally started that downward spiral of negative thoughts like…
“arrhhh, what if I fail? I’m not sure if I’m up to it….HELP!”
Have you ever tried to take your own advice and failed? Hey, we’re human.
Luckily, fellow keynote speaker, host, and experienced BBC broadcaster Jeremy Nicholas (above) came to the rescue!
Phew, when I ran through my plans to ‘chunk up’ my talk into seven sections, Jeremy not only encouraged me and gave me the thumbs up “rubber stamp”, but he also filled me with confidence.
Half of me was scolding myself…

I must say, it has been a while since I felt that fear. And getting help has been such a HUGE relief… thank you Jeremy.?
In short, if you find yourself struggling or doubting yourself, no matter how senior or experienced you are. GET HELP. You are not weak or somehow failing if you need a bit of nurturing. You deserve to be at the top of your game, so invest in yourself and reach out.?
