Confidence may not bring success but gives power to face challenges

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
It is always the case when a positive drive in me instills a confidence to accept challenges. It teaches me to compete against no one but myself. I have to stand up for myself. Accepting the challenges is my choice, so I have to stand up for them. I want to manage my choices as best as I can. I am proactive to correspond to my skills and abilities. I do not want to use an excuse to blame others for my own failures.
Though I am aware that difficult things become easier with practice, doing the best I can makes me feel good about myself. Every challenge gives me new ideas and constructive thinking that shape new experience and wisdom. The challenges stimulate a new energy. They affirm the belief that success comes to those whose efforts are intense and sincere. I have imbibed the Yoga Sutra that the chances of success vary according to the degree of efforts.
Of course trying to do our best by accepting new challenges is a way of preserving our personal identity. They make our life active and independent. Not accepting the challenges lead to negative expectations that limit our own ability to recognize different dimensions of life. We must keep active and stay vibrant in the world around us by exposing ourselves to the new dimensions of life.
And the negative attitude fosters unresolved fears. A great variety of goals, values, and preferences help us to find the meaning of life. We don’t have to be a passive lobby in the search of our own real self. We have to act firmly to accept new challenges of life. Sometimes in life, we are so bogged down by our failures that it becomes pretty difficult for us to get back up again. We start restricting ourselves to an isolated space and stop meeting people around. We are not able to express ourselves well enough, as the fear of being wrong has built an abode within our minds. The underlying cause of such behavior is lack of confidence, which is holding us in getting out of our comfort zones.
And we all have been through such a situation, and we have our ways of dealing with it. I will share some techniques which have worked for me, and I wish they are of some help to you. Therefore try to hear what all is going inside your head. Usually, the things we are refusing to do and avoiding for a long time are the ones we should be doing in the first place. This technique helps in getting out of our comfort zones and experience the real deal.
And keep challenging yourself always! Be a morning person, set a 5 am alarm and go for a jog. Set targets that stretch your limits accomplish them. I completed a half marathon in my 5th run itself. Your mind has no borders, so keep pushing.
Try and travel solo! Go on a trek with unknowns! Just open up! Share your fear, your goals, your likes and dislikes with them. When you travel solo, you are responsible for your decisions and actions. You will be amazed when you see the results. It helps to learn something new! Yes, try something you have never done before. Be it learning a new instrument, or taking some dance lessons even if you suck at it. Sometimes we find our passion for the things we have not yet tried!
Without doubt read a lot! Go through some self-help books and try to finish them. Go through autobiographies of some great men. You will find most of them have gone through the same phase that you are going through. You will find a lot of your questions being answered. Learn to face your fears! This is the best technique that can assist you in getting your confidence level up. Know your concerns and face them.
Are you afraid of public speaking? Start taking up classes on something you are good at, take workshops. Are you scared of bungee jumping? Experience it. Are you embarrassed about getting ignored? Take up a marketing internship. Do every possible thing to get over your fears. Like I took up meditation years ago and yes, it has helped me a lot. It calms your mind and increases awareness levels. It is not possible to improve unless you are not aware of what you lack. Meditation helps you make you aware of those things. Try it now! Cheers!

3 年KISHORE SHINTRE Let me touch upon 2 points of your post. 1. Speech - speech is like a baby, very easy to conceive but very very difficult to deliver. For politicians however, it is the other way round i.e very difficult to conceive but very easy to deliver ???? 2 Meditation I feel is something you do after finding an isolated space with no interference and you sit with eyes closed. For me, meditation is how you carry on a particular task at a time, totally engrossed and focussed in it. If you are writing, be immersed in it with all the attention and focussed. If you are cooking, just be totally centred in that art. This is how I perceive meditation.
Beautiful share baba. Running away from fears is not the solution, rather face it to win it. Thanks for the tag. KISHORE SHINTRE
