Confidence, is it holding you back from starting a business?
Are you thinking of starting your own business or maybe you have started one and you are in the early days?
?There are so many of us who have a business idea, who want to start a business, and are confident in the area of our expertise, ( like myself when I trained as a life coach, that was just the beginning), the more people I speak to on a weekly basis and the more people that I coach, every week confidence is something that we come up against and just know this is normal!
Confidence is important in all areas of life, maybe you are really confident in your set skill which is brilliant!?When starting out, you have that passion and drive inside you, you know you want more, you want to be an entrepreneur, and growing a business you discover you have to be comfortable with selling yourself, with putting yourself out there.?
You have to become all heads under your business, marketing, social media, accounting, learn the art of selling, the list is endless. And guess what it can be so overwhelming you feel like giving up before you even start.
I get it, I was there.??
You have to juggle a lot of different hats when you are an entrepreneur when you are working for yourself and it is exciting.?
We have all these plans, exciting ideas, they come to us and then often we sit, we sit and procrastinate...?
When I started my first business years ago ( 2014), I?felt so out of my debt, like who was I thinking I could do this, failed at school, didn’t go to college ( at least not the traditional route).
?I remember signing up to go to a networking event I was excited and nervous to go to it, knowing that there were many other business owners there, and to cut a very long story short, I ended up hiding in the bathrooms for 10 minutes, I kid you not! I was telling myself to cop on, to stop being silly,?to get out there that these are just normal people like me but I was dreading it.?
It was, without doubt, one of the most uncomfortable things that I have ever done!?I remember thinking that when I started getting into fitness, when I?started running and doing triathlons, how out of my comfort zone I was, remember we all start somewhere, everyone starts somewhere so please don't be hard on yourself.?
Here are some things that help me...
1. You will never be ready: so many people that I talk to and again I'm using myself and my previous business as an example, you will never be ready so many people wait to start,?wait until they have a website, wait until they have a social media presence, wait until they have more content on their platforms.

?I am sure if you ask any parent who is planning to have children that there is never a good time, there is never a right time you just have to pull off the plaster and start.
2. Start doing something! There is no such thing as perfection each day, each week do something one small thing that you can do to bring you closer to your goals do a live video, a post reach out to people, ask friends families are co-workers for feedback ask someone to jump on the market research call with you.
3.? Face your fears, do something each day that scares you a little! I myself needed reminding of this last week, I have this business idea and I kept pushing it aside, letting fear stop me from taking action.
This happens to all of us regardless of where you are on your journey, I have heard many successful entrepreneurs say this.?
4. Take aligned action- again this is one of those things we can read all the books we can go to all the seminars etc, but at the end of the day you must take action!.
?You must take aligned action when I say aligned action this means something that you feel is right for you, it does not mean that you do everything that you see everyone else is doing online. What feels good for you?
5. Avoid burnout don't be afraid to take a step back, don't be afraid to close the laptop go and get your exercise go for a walk in nature. This is when I get the greatest clarity in my business. ?
6. Trust in yourself and your abilities.
7. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, don’t be afraid to fail. I have failed at many things many times, and I am sure I will again. The trick is to get back up again!
I hope you mind this helpful? What not leave a comment and let me know!
Love and Light,
Linda.
