Confidence, Elevated

I would like to host an online session on self-confidence with respect to our career, jobs, and the work capacities we hold in our life. Do you feel that your lack of confidence in yourself and your capabilities have impacted your career trajectory, job transitions or work performance? Are you continually analyzing yourself focusing on your weaknesses? For different, reason that's how I've been feeling on different stages of my career.

Or on the contrary, have you consistently possessed overconfidence i.e. overestimated your strengths and results, resulting in unforeseen failures in new jobs, projects, or team environments? Both scenarios--underconfidence and overconfidence-- can stop us from showing our worth, delivering our potential, maintaining a balanced work-life balance, and of course mental health.

As my current career coach Chantel Butt, CCMP, Certified Executive Coach, PCC framed nicely, confidence is shaped through an interplay of two constructions: what others perceive of us and the perception we have of ourselves. In an online call that we had, she went on further to explain that a healthy confidence allows enough curiosity and humility to keep a growth mindset and continual learning approach. I interpret that also means individuals should be open to keep on learning new and emerging knowledge. They should also be receptive and humble to keep on learning from other team members even if they are inferior from their rank, age or experience.

We can overcome our challenges by adopting the right attitude after learning about our strengths and weaknesses, our learning and working style. Sometimes however, it can feel like a difficult and dark road to traverse though on our own.

If you find that you like to join an online space with me to share your concerns and learnings and hear from others on your journey toward confidence as it pertains to work, please fill out this short RSVP form. I will make sure to include you.

The space will be inclusive, safe and supportive -- you only share as much as you want and are comfortable. Everyone is there to help and support each other. As per the preference of the participants, our conversations can follow the Chatham House Rule.
