Confessiones

Very soon, because on May 1, 2020, I plan to embark on a unique journey around the world in an electric car with a NOA humanoid robot - the Power4Change project. I will start my journey in London from the Reform Club in London, circle the globe and end my journey in the same place. I will travel about 30,000 km, cross 2 oceans and travel through 20 countries.

The Power4Change idea at a glance.

I am going to join two things that I am passionate about - exploration and philosophy. I am going on a journey to a better tomorrow. Over the course of this 12-month Power4Change project, I intend to show by example, that if you want the world to change, you need to begin with yourself. I will conduct research to determine whether developing new technologies can go hand-in-hand with environmental protection and highlight the importance of social activism. The campaign aims to create long-term improvements to our everyday habits and get its participants to reduce their yearly carbon emissions by 10 percent.

But there is much more to that.

I plan to make a film - an artistic documentary at the end of the expedition.

Inspirations.

The idea arose a long time ago as an inspiration after reading 'Confessions of St. Augustine' from Hippo (Latin: Confessiones). My movie will somewhat refer to this classic of world literature. 'Confessions of St. Augustine' is a historical and autobiographical work, similar to the vision of my film.

Some say that Saint Augustine of Hippo describing the history of his life, thus illustrated his theory of a man. Searching for the truth about himself, the world and God, he went through various phases from skepticism to the discovery of Christianity and conversion.

My movie will also be a reference to the theatrical play Samuel Beckett's 'Krapp's Last Tape'. The action takes place in the future. The main character is an older, lonely man who, from the age of 24, has been recording his voice on a cassette tape every year. In his recordings, the title Krapp talked about what had happened to him over the past year.

About the movie.

My intention is to record at the end of each day, in the evening, my conversation with the NOA robot - my companion and travel partner. The conversation summarizing the day will last about 10 minutes. The talks will cover different topics. I will make confessions about myself, about man, about my relationship with the robot during the journey, about the insights from the whole day, as well as many philosophical reflections on various topics that circulate my mind. The essence of my considerations will also be, in part, a deepening of myself and an even more complete understanding of the essence of a man.

The title of the film will be 'Confessiones' - my confessions in conversation with NOA.
