Conferences Matter - 2024 SEO, AI & Marketing Chaos

2024 isn't just the year of AI, it will be the year of turbulence within SEO, Social Media, and budgeting... as world events, politics, economic uncertainty, interest rate fluctuations and a general sense of dread combine with rapid change to amplify the impact of AI.

That's one reason I stepped up my conferences and events activity. I'll be speaking at:

  1. Mobile Growth Association's MGS 24 in Vegas (Deets with discount ticket price)
  2. Pubcon Vegas (yes Vegas again after CES, T&C and ASW in Jan)
  3. Brighton SEO San Diego: (waiting list for free tickets)
  4. Half a dozen other speaking proposals out there

I'm also a multi-round investor in Possible Event (Beyond Ordinary Events) a more general and strategic conference famous for having launched their first Miami Beach event (Fontainebleau MIA) with Elon Musk and Linda Yaccarino on stage pre-announcement.

Locked in as an investor in C-Suite Network, run by Jeffrey Hayzlett and Tricia Benn where events are part of a larger suite of services for the business community, but have great local events including their NYC one.

Why events? Because events allow for better conversations than nearly anything else. Sure I'll keep doing my podcasts and my Monthly Roundtables and other events where I give free help to the marketing community.

Events and the content they create will feed marketer's social media, blogs and the press mentions. All these will train the LLMs on the products and services companies have. That means event participation may increase the odds that ChatGPT, Gemini by Google, Claude or the other LLMs suggest your company during a chat.

I also learn best at F2F events. 30+ years of digital marketing (not a typo) plus a few years of traditional marketing make me an expert, but lifelong learning makes me even more valuable to clients and to my own businesses. (I have to stop launching and buying these retail and publishing businesses just to run more sophisticated marketing and publishing experiments)

The other reason I'm loving events more and more is that the Giving Forward team and I along with the help of professional photographer Yana Perchikova (if you need a true pro, ping her) invented GoodPics.org a platform where we deploy photographers to all kinds of events to turn professional headshots (the "green" high value item) into donations for causes. The platform has really evolved and improved. Matthew Katz used it to support Movember, and Charlie Napolitano deployed us at https://themicrocapconference.com/ to support StJude.

What topics do you want covered at IRL events, Webinars and Roundtables?? Ping me to let me know.

For sure the year of AI,Kevin your a unloyal fraud.and everyone is going to hear about it.

The emphasis on real-world interactions at conferences is a refreshing approach to staying ahead. Looking forward to learning and connecting.

Just wanted to say I think you're doing ng a great job with GivingForward.org I only worked briefly on as volunteer on the project. It was rewarding and meant a great deal to me. Unfortunately it was during a tumultuous time for me personally. I hope there is another opportunity to work with one of your teams.one day soon.
