Condemnation And Celebration

Peter J. Li, China Policy Advisor, Humane Society International says it best, "Yes, we must condemn animal abusers and all other criminal acts against animals. But, we also deserve celebration of the heroic deeds of people ..."

The latest cause for both.

"A Dog with a Cut at the Throat Rescued in Shaoxing, China

January 16,2018. Shaoxing, Zhejiang, China. Another great rescue to celebrate from China. A dog believed to have escaped from a dog slaughter operation (with an open wound at the throat) was rescued into Shaoxing Small Animal Protection Association shelter. Professor Jin, a local university faculty and founder of the Association, is providing care to this dog. Yes, we must condemn animal abusers and all other criminal acts against animals. But, we also deserve celebration of the heroic deeds of people like Professor Jin in Shaoxing and Ms. Zhao in Kuitun. Earlier, Humane Society International (HSI) responded to Shaoxing's appeal for vet supply help. The vet supplies have been used to care for the facility's dogs and recently rescued dogs from a dog meat restaurant."

Condemnation.

Celebration.

Shaoxing is in China's Zhejiang Province close to Shanghai. To help the dog and the facility, here is Shaoxing facility's PayPal: [email protected]

We will continue to fight, condemn and celebrate.

We are all these animals have.

We are their only hope.

A Hideous Pageant of Cruelty and Torture: The Yulin Dog Meat Festival Must End

"Previous attempts to stop the Yulin Festival have raised awareness but failed to stop it. They have scaled back the slaughter though: there were reports that at the most recent festival the number of animals killed had shrunk to 1,000. There were also rumours that 2017’s festival had been cancelled. Unfortunately untrue. However, it shows that sustained pressure does have some impact.

It also means that present or future campaigns can succeed.

When you think of the callous sadism of skinning an animal alive, boiling it or burning it, watching as it suffers unendurable pain, it really should not be too much to ask."
