Concrete Cares 2018
2018 is well underway and we are continuing what we do best help families and children dealing with cancer in their lives. Financial tolls can be immense for families and children when they should be dealing with the emotional stress cancer has brought to their lives. Depending upon insurance policies a large portion of hospital stays and treatments may be paid for a time extended stays and treatments when insurance ends or has met its maximum payouts families eat up savings and they are forced to take money from budgets for feeding families, rent & mortgage payments, car & utility bills. For those who must travel for treatments gas, meals and hotel stay's create financial burdens on families. This is what we do help locally!
We started 2018 at World of Concrete to continue using the great products and people in CONCRETE to support the Candlelighers Childhood Foundation of Nevada. For the third year, Concrete Cares teamed with many industry friends to raise funds to support this outstanding group who helps children dealing with cancer, not only were we able to provide financially but donations of items such as gift cards & children's DVDs were given out during World of Concrete. We were also able to give out over 650 Concrete Cares/ Candlelighters shirts with the caption "kids can't fight cancer alone" We were once again able to use the strength of concrete to make a difference. What Concrete Cares is able to accomplish is only made possible through donations and gifts from sponsors and friends, if you love and work with concrete consider joining us.
March 8-10 we traveled to Hot Springs Arkansas for the Arkansas Ready Mix Concrete Convention to help the families of McKenzie West and Danny Martin both who live in Arkansas. McKenzie was diagnosed with leukemia on October 23 where she went from straight A student athletic & volunteer at a local hospital to a patient. We firmly believe cancer is never fair and Concrete Cares is here to use our generosity and compassion to help others locally. This is our goal for 2018 make differences on local levels and spread the word in the concrete industry to make the differences in your community the concrete way.
Our plans for 2018 and beyond are to work in local cities and states collecting new children's DVDs & Art supplies we can take to local hospitals where children are undergoing treatments for cancer. Find more contractors and suppliers to add the Concrete Cares logo to trucks, cars, and equipment showing we keep fighting "1 yard at a time" in our cities and states. To see more organizations start Concrete Cares Chapters in their states and make differences there. Concrete Cares also plans to host a Rocky Geans Business school this fall with all proceeds going to help those dealing with the reality cancer has brought to their lives.
